This blog will try to demonstrate the use of Revit software and its family creation functionalities that may be used during the design process, with the scope of design drawing, detailing and documentation for a specific structural design task.

Here I will try to describe the steps I have used for creating a custom Revit family, helpful in the design process, from the conceptual design to the final design drawings.

Through the combination of simple structural principles used in every day tasks, with uncomplicated Revit family creation adapting to specific tasks, a more efficient design is attained, leading to  more accurate design decisions.

A case project  will be described together with the steps used for a basic Revit implementation.
